Catching Rare bugs- I know I’ve talked about catching rare fish and bugs together, but I felt this needed a separate post, because it really is a subject all it’s own. The best way to go about it is to make it July (you know, if you time travel, I do) and plant a lot of coconut trees if you don’t have any. Change the time to about 8PM-11PM and many rare bugs will appear in the night. These bugs like Goliath Beetles, Atlas Beetles, and even Golden Stags can be sold for 6,000-12,000 Bells. It’s a great source of money if you’re trying to pay off your mortgage, or just need some extra cash!

Catching bees… This is probably one of the most difficult bugs to ever catch… But I figured out a way to catch them almost every time. Whenever you’re out shaking the trees, and you happen to come across a beehive, run north (up) and pull our your net (using the control pad). Make sure you’ve run enough so that it takes them a while to catch up. Make sure you’re facing south, and then, when they get close enough… Swing! As you can see, it might take you a while to get one, and you may get stung a few times, but it’s worth it!
