Animal Crossing Tips
Merry Christmas everyone (Or whatever else you might celebrate) I thought I would put up this winter themed post out of holiday spirit. This time we’re talking about making snowmen, which I personally find kind of tricky, the snowmen are very picky about their proportion. Every day that there’s snow on the ground, which generally happens around December 6th-10th, two snowballs will appear in your town. Roll them around in the snow ‘til they are generally the same size, and stack one onto the other. The snowman will speak to you, and if he seems pleased, he will send you a letter with an item from the special “snowman” furniture set. Once again, Happy holidays!

Dotty is another villager I have in my town, and she’s so cute isn’t she?
This rabbit has the peppy personality, so shes extra nice and perky all the time, but can be offended rather easily. Her initial catchphrase is “wee one” and her birthday is celebrated on March 14th. (right after my birthday!) Dotty has appeared in all the games, including New Leaf.

So I think I’m going to start a new thing called “Animal of the Week” where I do a profile on one character each week, giving details and fun facts. The character might just be a regular villager, or a special character like Jack or Jingles. Sound good? (I’ll usually post them on Wednesdays, this is just a test run)
Savannah is one of my personal favorites, she’s a Zebra who’s initial catchphrase is “ya’ll”. Her Birthday is on January 25th and has appeared in all the current games, including New Leaf. She has the normal personality type, so she’s usually nice and friendly.

Katrina has a pretty bad reputation, some of the animals even call her shop sketchy. But she really isn’t that bad (except for when she drops a pot on your head) and can even provide some information for cheap. You can get a charm or a fortune from her. The charm gives you an action one of your friends must preform in your town to bring you good fortune, and the regular reading just provides information, such as if you will come upon money or not in the near future. You can only get the charm once a month, and your fortune once a day, both for 100 bells. You’ve got nothing to loose, so go visit Katrina in the city!

Once you donate 1,000,000 bells to your town fund, you’ll get a fountain right behind the bus stop in your town. While it is pretty, it’s not just for looks. If you take an axe and throw it in, it calls up a goddess named Serena. (though a goddess of what I’m not sure) Serena can be kind of difficult, but if you are nice and honest with her, after many attempts she will give you a gold or silver axe. Note that you can only summon her once a day!

Catching Rare bugs- I know I’ve talked about catching rare fish and bugs together, but I felt this needed a separate post, because it really is a subject all it’s own. The best way to go about it is to make it July (you know, if you time travel, I do) and plant a lot of coconut trees if you don’t have any. Change the time to about 8PM-11PM and many rare bugs will appear in the night. These bugs like Goliath Beetles, Atlas Beetles, and even Golden Stags can be sold for 6,000-12,000 Bells. It’s a great source of money if you’re trying to pay off your mortgage, or just need some extra cash!

Animal Crossing:New Leaf

Hey you guys! Sorry I havent posted in so very long, I’ve had some difficulty getting to it. I want to thank those of you who have stayed with me anyways. To make up for it, RedPandaGamer (who has a great complete 365 day lets play of ACCF, check him out on YouTube) has inspired me to do a complete 365 day lets play of New Leaf when it is released in the US sometime before June of 2013. I’ll keep you updated, so bear with me here!

I love making my own original patterns at the clothing shop (okay, they aren’t all original some of them are from www.foxpondcrossing.tumblr.com, make sure you check them out.) It can be pretty tedious and time consuming to get something decent, but it’s pretty satisfying once you finish!

Trying to grow back trampled grass can be a hassle, but I’ve found a technique everyone can try. Just cover the barren areas with a pattern, and try to remind yourself not to run or to avoid the areas covered with the pattern, which will get your grass growing back faster. Because when your run over those little tiny green dots you see growing in the dirt covered areas, you’re delaying your grass growth by another day!

Every now and then, one of your neighbors might ask you to run a fun little errand for them, or be on the lookout for something. I suggest you do these errands as it increases the “good energy” in your town, making it a better place. I’ve heard the nicer you are to your towns folk the greater chance you have of getting a gold/silver axe from Serena (but I’ll talk more about that later.)  So go ahead and say yes to these errands, because you’ll always get something in return if you complete them!
